Lenggeng Candidate Pledges New School as Top Priority if Re-elected

Datuk Mohd. Asna Amin, the incumbent for the Lenggeng state seat, has declared that building a new school in Bandar Tasik Senangin will be his top priority if voters grant him another term. He highlighted the pressing need for educational facilities, driven by a significant increase in residents due to new housing developments.

When the state government approves housing development, the construction of schools should also be mandatory. That is what has not happened before, causing problems for residents.

Mohd. Asna Amin explained that the area has seen the construction of 3,000 new homes, yet educational infrastructure has not kept pace. This imbalance has created a shortage of school places for local children. He pointed out that while the state government approves housing projects, the mandatory construction of accompanying schools has been overlooked, leading to the current problem. Bandar Tasik Senangin, he noted, has three housing developments but lacks adequate school capacity.

Efforts to establish the school are already underway, with land acquisition processes completed. The next crucial step, according to Mohd. Asna Amin, is to secure its inclusion in the state budget for swift construction. Reflecting on his re-election prospects, he acknowledged winning by a slim margin previously but feels his position is now much stronger after three years of dedicated service. He emphasized his consistent engagement with constituents, stating he is present not just during election seasons but almost daily, assisting residents.

Mohd. Asna Amin believes voter reception has significantly improved compared to the last election, as he has met and helped thousands of residents over the past three years. He also anticipates that the alliance between Barisan Nasional (BN) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) will provide a competitive edge in the upcoming polls, contrasting with his narrow victory of 685 votes in the previous election.
