Liquid plaster spills onto Alytus intersection, requiring cleanup

Specialized services were called to an intersection in Alytus, Lithuania, on Thursday afternoon following reports of an unknown substance covering the roadway. Firefighters and police officers arrived at the junction of Likiškėlių and Jurgiškių streets to find the road coated in a liquid material.

Upon arrival, it was determined that the substance was liquid facade plaster. The material presented a significant traffic safety hazard due to its slippery nature and the difficulty of removal once hardened. The company responsible for maintaining Alytus's streets, "Raguvilė," was promptly contacted.

Remigijus Kariniauskas, head of "Raguvilė's" Alytus division, stated that specialists immediately began cleanup operations. Using special equipment with brushes, they swept and removed the spilled plaster from the road surface.

Authorities are currently investigating the exact circumstances that led to the plaster ending up on the road. It is suspected that the construction material may have spilled from a vehicle or its trailer while making a turn at the intersection. Police are seeking to identify the careless driver responsible for the spill.
