Lithuania Reports No Illegal Migrants at Belarus Border for Second Day

Lithuania has reported a significant lull in illegal migration attempts at its border with Belarus, with no unauthorized crossings registered for two consecutive days. This development marks a notable shift after a period characterized by a surge in migrants seeking entry into Lithuania from the neighboring country.

The border situation remains dynamic, with neighboring countries also reporting on migrant flows. Latvia's border service indicated that they denied entry to 67 migrants on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Poland's border service reported no instances of illegal migrants crossing its border on Monday, suggesting varying trends across the region.

This easing of pressure on Lithuania's border comes after months of heightened tensions and increased efforts by Belarusian authorities to facilitate the movement of migrants towards the EU. Lithuanian officials have previously accused Belarus of orchestrating these flows as a form of hybrid warfare.
