Lithuania's September 1st weather forecast: Meteorologist has bad news

Lithuania can expect a shift in weather patterns this week, moving from cooler, drier conditions to a more unsettled period with rain and stronger winds.

Anticyclone Steffen will bring drier, calmer weather on Wednesday, but cooler air from the north and northeast will keep nights chilly. Morning fog is possible, but daytime sun will offer some warmth, described as "Lithuanian warmth." Similar conditions are expected on Thursday.

By Friday, a more humid cyclone system will approach the Baltic Sea. While rain is not anticipated for Friday, a stronger southeasterly wind will bring warmer air from the south. After a cool night, Friday daytime temperatures will be warmer.

Saturday is forecast to bring clouds and rain, particularly in the west, with a strong southerly wind. Western regions will cool down, while eastern Lithuania may still warm up. Sunday and Monday will see a calmer pattern with short, thundery showers and warm temperatures.

However, the outlook for September 1st, the first day of school, is less promising. Current data suggests a rainy day with strong westerly winds, though temperatures are expected to remain relatively warm. This forecast comes from meteorologist Elvyra Latvėnaitė.
