Lithuania says Russia may stage Baltic provocations

Lithuanian intelligence has uncovered information suggesting Russia is contemplating provocations within the Baltic region. These potential actions could involve attacks on critical infrastructure, with a possibility that Russia might employ Ukrainian drones to carry out these operations, disguising them as "false flag" incidents. While Russia is reportedly considering these provocations, a final decision has not yet been made, and no specific timeline has been established.

In response to these intelligence findings, Lithuania has taken measures to bolster the security of its strategic assets. Security has been enhanced indefinitely at key locations such as the liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in Klaipėda, the "LitPol Link" electricity connection with Poland, a substation in Alytus, and the Kruonis Pumped Storage Hydroelectric Power Plant.
