Malaysia Lottery Shop Employee Set Ablaze, Suffers Severe Burns

A lottery shop employee in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is in critical condition after a brutal attack where a man doused her with gasoline and set her on fire. The incident happened early Tuesday morning as the 62-year-old employee prepared to open the shop.

According to reports, the assailant ambushed the woman as she was entering the premises. She attempted to flee to an office, but the attacker pursued her, doused her with gasoline, and ignited it despite her pleas. The woman sustained burns to 50% of her body and is currently in the intensive care unit in a coma.

The attacker fled the scene after the assault. The injured employee managed to seek help from a nearby tea shop, where staff quickly extinguished the flames and called the police. She was then transported to the hospital for emergency treatment.

Local police have confirmed the incident and are collecting evidence, including DNA samples, as they search for the suspect. The victim, who had worked at the lottery shop for two years, was described as well-liked and diligent, with no known enemies, making the motive for the attack unclear.
