Man arrested in Bantul for allegedly stealing meatball seller's cart, motorcycle, and cash

Authorities in Bantul, Indonesia, have apprehended a 47-year-old man, identified by the initial H, on suspicion of fraud and embezzlement. The suspect allegedly targeted a local meatball seller, making off with essential business assets and proceeds.

The victim, Eka Nataliya, reported that H absconded with her motorcycle, meatball cart, associated equipment, and cash earned from sales. The total estimated loss incurred by Nataliya amounts to approximately Rp7,079,000 (about $470 USD).

The officers immediately conducted an investigation by gathering witness statements, tracing existing clues, and searching for the whereabouts of the suspected perpetrator. From the results of the investigation, the perpetrator's identity was successfully identified.

The incident occurred in Dusun Bibis, Poncosari Village, Srandakan Sub-district, Bantul. Following Nataliya's report, the Srandakan Police's Criminal Investigation Unit launched an investigation. Officers gathered witness testimonies and pursued leads to identify the perpetrator.

Investigators successfully traced H's whereabouts to the Godean area in Sleman Regency. A police team was dispatched, and the suspect was apprehended on Sunday evening without incident. He has since been taken to the Srandakan Police Station for further questioning and legal processing.
