Man Arrested Over Fatal Offaly Fire Released Without Charge

The investigation into the tragic fire that claimed the lives of young Tadgh Farrell and his grand-aunt Mary Holt in Edenderry, Co. Offaly, continues with further arrests and releases. A man in his 20s, apprehended earlier this week in connection with the incident, has now been released without charge. This follows the release without charge of three other individuals – two men in their 20s and a teenager – who were arrested last night. A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions in relation to these individuals. The devastating event occurred in December when a petrol bomb was thrown through the front window of the house in Castleview Park, resulting in the deaths of Tadgh, who was visiting his grandmother, and Ms. Holt, aged 60.
