Man Faces Trial for Shooting Two People and Killing a Dog in Parking Dispute

In Valle de Chalco, Mexico, a judge has ordered Elías Marcelino “N” to stand trial for his alleged involvement in a violent incident that left two men injured and a dog dead. The charges against him include attempted homicide and cruelty to sentient beings.

The prosecution alleges that on July 16, the suspect engaged in an argument with the victims over a parking space. During the altercation, Elías Marcelino “N” reportedly drew a firearm, firing shots that struck the two men and also shot a dog belonging to one of the victims.

The injured dog succumbed to its wounds the following day, July 17, while receiving veterinary care. Following his arrest, the suspect was taken to the Chalco Penitentiary and Reintegration Center.

After reviewing the evidence presented by the State Attorney General's Office, the judge determined there was sufficient cause to proceed with the trial. The court has imposed pre-trial detention as a precautionary measure and granted a two-month period for the completion of the complementary investigation. The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
