Marshall leads Jamaican sweep into hurdles semis at World U-20s

Tiana Marshall dominated her heat, clocking 13.10 seconds to lead qualifiers for the 100m hurdles semi-finals at the World Athletics Under-20 Championships in Eugene, Oregon. She finished a full half-second ahead of her closest competitor, Taylor Foster of Barbados.

Marshall was joined in advancing by fellow Jamaican Akeelah Bell, who secured her spot in the semi-finals on time after finishing fourth in her heat with a 13.46-second performance. Both Jamaican men in the 110m hurdles also progressed, earning automatic qualification by finishing second in their first-round heats.

Marquis Page recorded a time of 13.34 seconds, finishing behind France's Ewenn Vernack, who set a personal best of 13.22 seconds. Taj-Oneil Gordon also advanced, running 13.49 seconds and finishing behind American Zacchaeus Brooks, who clocked 13.11 seconds, the second-fastest time of the round. The semi-finals are set for Friday afternoon, with the finals scheduled for Saturday.
