Maru Campos reaffirms commitment to legality amid drug lab probe in Chihuahua

Governor Maru Campos of Chihuahua has firmly reiterated her administration's unwavering commitment to operating strictly within the bounds of the law and collaborating closely with all entities dedicated to strengthening the rule of law. Speaking in Delicias, Campos addressed recent developments concerning the investigation into a drug laboratory uncovered in the municipality of Morelos, located in the Sierra Tarahumara region. She assured that the inquiries are progressing as expected and highlighted the state government's proactive step in establishing a Specialized Unit that has already yielded initial results. The Governor pledged continued cooperation with the investigations led by the Attorney General's Office (FGR), promising transparent and timely information sharing to fully clarify the events of April 19th, determine their causes, and identify those responsible. Campos stressed that consolidating peace throughout the state remains a top priority, stating, "We will not rest until we achieve peace throughout the state territory." She made these remarks during the oath-taking ceremony for the new Board of Directors of the Mexican Employers' Confederation (Coparmex) in Delicias. The Governor underscored that the most complete exercise of sovereignty lies in guaranteeing dignified living conditions, which includes secure streets, business certainty, and peace of mind for families. She declared, "We will continue to confront this cancer with determination, to prevent drugs from contaminating our communities. It is a moral and political responsibility that we assume with all decisiveness." Addressing the families of Chihuahua, she reiterated, "We reaffirm to the families of Chihuahua that we understand our irreducible responsibility to guarantee peace. It is our duty, but also a patriotic responsibility." Campos concluded by expressing confidence in Chihuahua's historical resilience, assuring that her administration will steadfastly pursue peace and the well-being of the state's families.
