Massive Security Operation Deployed for BTS Concerts in Mexico City

The Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) in Mexico City is implementing a comprehensive security plan for the highly anticipated BTS concerts, scheduled for May 7, 9, and 10 at the Estadio GNP Seguros. This operation underscores the immense scale and public interest surrounding the K-pop group's visit, necessitating a robust deployment to manage the expected crowds and ensure a safe environment for tens of thousands of fans.

The security apparatus will include over 1,186 uniformed officers, supported by a significant fleet of 38 official vehicles, 10 motorcycles, nine tow trucks, a bus, two drones, and the specialized "Cóndores" air support unit with a helicopter. This extensive resource allocation reflects the government's commitment to preventing any incidents and maintaining public order during the high-profile event, which will run from 8:00 PM to 2:00 AM.

Specialized units, such as the Banking and Industrial Police (PBI), will be stationed at all access points, corridors, and seating areas to prevent the entry of prohibited items and address any disturbances. Canine units trained in detecting narcotics and explosives will also be on duty, adding another layer of security. The SSC's focus is not only on the stadium itself but also on surrounding areas, with traffic control personnel ensuring smooth vehicle and pedestrian flow.
