Matrouh Governorate Responds Urgently to Wastewater Leak

In Matrouh Governorate, swift and decisive action was taken to manage a critical wastewater leak that threatened nearby residential areas. The incident at the Aloush treatment plant on Tuesday prompted an immediate and coordinated response from the governorate's executive authorities, demonstrating a commitment to public safety and environmental protection.

Governor Mohamed Zamalout personally oversaw the situation, conducting an inspection tour to assess the leak's impact firsthand. His directive to form an urgent committee, led by the Directorate of Agriculture, to evaluate damage to local crops and trees underscores the administration's dedication to supporting affected citizens. The governor's assurance that "the state will not abandon any affected citizen" and that necessary compensation will be disbursed according to legal procedures provides crucial reassurance to the community.

The Holding Company for Water and Wastewater acted rapidly to mitigate the crisis, halting wastewater flow into the affected network and diverting it to alternative basins.
