Meet Joheirry Mola Dominguez, Miss World 2026 and former teacher and journalist

Joheirry Mola Dominguez, the Dominican Republic’s representative, has been crowned Miss World 2026 after the final competition in Nha Trang, Vietnam, on September 5. The event brought together 111 contestants who had completed a month-long preparatory period.

Born in the United States on September 27, 2001, Dominguez moved to the homeland of her parents in the Dominican Republic when she was five. She has a younger brother, Freddy. In 2018, she became first runner-up in the Miss Teen Américas competition, representing the Dominican Republic.

She later earned a bachelor’s degree in Management and Business Administration from Universidad Iberoamericana. Her path to the Miss World title also included representing Distrito Nacional at Miss World Dominican Republic 2025, where she became the country’s official representative for the international competition.

Dominguez began modeling at 18 and later appeared on magazine covers. She also worked as a journalist for Ventana a Quisqueya at Univision New York, covering Dominican culture and social issues. The experience, the article says, broadened her understanding of social conditions.

She founded Voices of Tomorrow, a nonprofit that provides English-language education to children and teenagers and helps people access learning opportunities. Her personal motto says, “The greatest gift you can give is the opportunity you once needed yourself to grow, move forward, and change your life.”
