Men from North Macedonia and Kosovo arrested in Greece with 324 kg of marijuana

Authorities in Thessaloniki, Greece, have arrested two men, identified as a citizen of North Macedonia and a citizen of Kosovo, in connection with a significant drug trafficking operation. The arrests were made after the discovery of 324 kilograms of marijuana concealed within a transport vehicle.

The operation was a result of a multi-month coordinated investigation involving the police and prosecution services of North Macedonia, Kosovo, and Greece. This international collaboration aimed to dismantle an organized crime group engaged in the illegal trade of narcotics.

During the search of a commercial vehicle, law enforcement officers found the large quantity of marijuana hidden beneath eight pallets of paper in the trailer. The illicit substance was seized as evidence.

Following the arrests in Greece, the Department of Criminal Police in North Macedonia, in conjunction with several internal affairs departments, conducted searches at multiple locations within North Macedonia. These searches were intended to identify any additional individuals involved in the criminal enterprise and to secure further evidence related to the drug trafficking offense.
