Morante, Manzanares, and Roca Rey Triumph in Almagro

Almagro's bullring witnessed a triumphant afternoon as bullfighters Morante de la Puebla, Manzanares, and Roca Rey all earned "a hombros" (carried out on shoulders) exits. The event, held on August 25th, featured bulls from the Cayetano Muñoz ranch, which, while generally of poor quality, presented two bulls that allowed the matadors to showcase their skills.

Morante de la Puebla received two ears for his efforts. In his first bout, he skillfully navigated a challenging bull, delivering several "soberbios" (superb) right-sided passes before a clean kill. He secured another trophy in his second appearance, demonstrating resilience even with a difficult bull.

Manzanares was awarded a tail for his performance with the fifth bull. After a replacement bull proved difficult, Manzanares captivated the audience with a slow, deliberate performance, earning a standing ovation and the prestigious award for his skillful handling and a great sword thrust.

Roca Rey also secured trophies, though his performance was marked by challenges. His first bull was returned due to injury, and the replacement proved uncooperative. Despite this, Roca Rey managed a notable series of left-sided passes and a decisive kill. In his final bull, he delivered a vibrant start with kneeling passes and strong right-sided series, ultimately securing an ear and joining his colleagues in the celebratory exit.
