Morowali Police Hunt BRILink Robbery Suspect, Kiosk Guard Slashed

The Morowali Resort Police are actively pursuing individuals responsible for a robbery at a BRILink banking service agent in Bahomotefe Village, Bungku Timur Subdistrict, Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi. The incident, which took place on Thursday around 10:43 AM WITA, resulted in the kiosk attendant, identified by the initials S (24), sustaining sharp weapon wounds.

Wakapolres Morowali, Kompol I Nyoman Raka Arya Wiyasa, confirmed the event. He stated that the victim is currently receiving medical treatment at the Bahomotefe Community Health Center, while the perpetrator remains at large and is the subject of an intensive police search. The victim suffered several cuts during the attack.

According to initial reports, the victim, S, was alone in the BRILink kiosk when an unidentified man entered and attacked him with a sharp weapon. After incapacitating the victim, the assailant quickly seized cash from the kiosk's drawer before fleeing the scene. "The perpetrator managed to take around Rp15 million before immediately fleeing," Kompol Nyoman stated during confirmation on Friday.

Police have processed the crime scene, cordoned off the area, and collected evidence to identify the suspect. The investigation is ongoing. In addition to the manhunt, the Morowali Resort Police have issued a public appeal to business owners, particularly those operating banking service agents, to bolster their security systems. This measure is deemed crucial to prevent similar criminal incidents, with suggestions including the installation of iron bars or other security enhancements to minimize opportunities for criminals.
