Motorcyclist Severely Injured in Collision with Truck Near Stetten

A serious accident involving a group of motorcyclists on federal highway 31 near Stetten in the Bodenseekreis district has left one man with severe injuries.

The incident unfolded on Monday when a car stopped at a bus stop to allow a bus to pass. The eight-person motorcycle group following behind reportedly failed to notice the car's braking maneuver, attributed by police to insufficient distance and inattentiveness. The lead motorcyclist, a 52-year-old, crashed into the rear of the car, sustaining minor injuries.

In the ensuing chaos, a 47-year-old motorcyclist swerved left onto the oncoming lane, resulting in a collision with a truck. This motorcyclist suffered severe injuries. Another 47-year-old rider and his 18-year-old passenger also collided with the car, sustaining minor injuries. Two additional riders from the group fell while braking hard to avoid further collisions.

Emergency services responded to the scene, and the injured were transported for medical treatment. Police are investigating the exact circumstances leading to the accident, focusing on factors such as speed, distance, and driver attention among the motorcyclists.
