Nano-S: Compact Kiosk Simplifies Hotel Check-ins

Hotel check-in processes are set to become faster and more convenient with the introduction of Nano-S, a compact self-service kiosk developed by Vendfun Sdn. Bhd. Launched at the Malaysia Hospitality Automation Summit (HOSAS) 2026, this device is specifically designed to assist hotels, particularly those with three-star ratings and below, in reducing front-desk congestion and enhancing the guest experience.

Despite its small size, the Nano-S is equipped with a comprehensive suite of functions. It features a combined passport and ID card scanner, a payment terminal, a card machine, and a receipt printer. For hotels aiming to reduce paper usage, receipts can also be sent directly to guests' emails. A unique selling point of the Nano-S is the inclusion of Vendfun's customer loyalty system at no extra cost. During the check-in process, guests are automatically registered as members, enabling them to start accumulating rewards, such as a complimentary night's stay after completing 10 nights within a year.

Benny Wee, CEO of Vendfun, stated that the Nano-S is engineered to simplify hotel operations without requiring significant investment or extensive space. "Our goal is to help hotels modernize their check-in process with a solution that is concise, user-friendly, and truly beneficial to operators and guests alike," he said. Vendfun has also developed its own 2-in-1 scanner for passports and ID cards, capable of reading various international identification documents, making the Nano-S suitable for hotels worldwide.

For enhanced security, the Nano-S offers an optional high-definition camera that supports facial verification and video concierge services. In Singapore, Vendfun is recognized as an EVA-Ready vendor under the E-Visitor Authentication Program, allowing its kiosks to facilitate digital check-ins that comply with international visitor identity verification requirements. Since entering the hospitality industry in 2020, Vendfun has installed over 150 self-check-in kiosks across Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Australia, and the United States. The Nano-S is currently available to hotels in Malaysia, with plans to expand its market reach throughout the ASEAN region by the end of the year.
