Nasinu holds out against ACS

Nasinu Secondary School secured a dramatic 20-17 victory over Adi Cakobau School in a nail-biting under-16 Weetbix Raluve Championship semifinal held in Suva. The match hung in the balance until the final moments, with ACS missing a crucial chance to snatch the win. Just seconds before the final hooter, ACS lost possession within Nasinu's 22-meter line, allowing Nasinu to hold on for the win.

Nasinu captain Akosita Naibiu described the final seconds as some of the most pressured moments of her life. She praised her teammates for their immense effort throughout the game but stressed that their work is not yet done, as they look ahead to the championship final.

"They almost managed to get through in the last minute, and I thank the girls for giving everything they had in them," Naibiu stated. "My only advice to them was that all our families and friends were watching us from the sidelines and we needed to make them proud."

The team's immediate focus is on recovery before they return to their drawing board to strategize and prepare their game plan for the upcoming final. The victory propels Nasinu into the championship match, capping off a hard-fought semifinal performance.
