Natural Disaster Declared in Štrigova After Devastating Hailstorm

Severe storms accompanied by hail have devastated agricultural areas in Štrigova, Croatia, prompting the county governor to declare a state of natural disaster. The intense weather on June 10th inflicted considerable material damage on farms, buildings, and perennial plantations. Orchards, vineyards, and vegetable and field crops suffered the most, with many areas experiencing a significant reduction or complete loss of their expected harvest.

The county administration is now calling on all affected individuals and legal entities to report their damages to the relevant municipal commission. They are specifically asked to report only uninsured property damage. The municipal commission will then assess the damages and submit the final evaluated losses to the county commission via the Damage Register within 50 days of the natural disaster declaration.

The county commission will compile a comprehensive damage report for the municipality within the legally stipulated timeframe. This declaration aims to provide a framework for assessing and potentially compensating for the widespread agricultural losses caused by the destructive weather event.
