The Nigerian Navy has demonstrated its unwavering commitment to securing Nigeria's maritime domain through a decisive operation on Dayspring Island. This offensive directly targeted criminal networks responsible for kidnappings and other illicit activities plaguing the Calabar–Oron channel. The successful destruction of a militant hideout and the seizure of assets belonging to a notorious kingpin, "Juju," sends a clear message that criminal elements will not find safe haven in our waters.

Exploitation of the area led to the discovery and destruction of a militant hideout linked to a notorious suspect known as ‘Juju’ in the Idung axis. The suspect fled, abandoning two boats fitted with outboard engines, which were immediately seized.

The operation, spearheaded by NNS Victory and FOB Ibaka, with crucial support from the Nigerian Army, highlights the synergy between our security forces. The establishment of a forward security outpost at Idung 1 (Peacock Crossing) provides a strategic advantage, allowing our personnel to dominate the creeks and waterways, thereby restricting the movement of militants and kidnappers.
