New venue decked in ADC colours ahead of party’s convention

Preparations are in full swing for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) national convention, scheduled to take place in Abuja. The Rainbow Event Centre is currently being adorned in the vibrant colors of the ADC, signaling the intensified efforts ahead of the party's significant gathering.

The convention, operating under the compelling theme "So the Nation May Work," is poised to bring together key figures within the party. Our correspondent observed the Chairman of the Convention Planning Committee, former Rivers State Governor Liyel Imoke, personally supervising the setup at the venue late Monday evening. He was joined by other prominent members of the organizing committee, including former Imo State Governor Emeka Ihedioha and former NBA President Olumide Akpata, among other coalition leaders.

The ADC anticipates a robust turnout, with over 300 delegates expected to participate in the proceedings. Central to the agenda will be the affirmation of the current National Working Committee, led by David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola. Additionally, delegates will deliberate on and approve a revised party constitution and manifesto, crucial documents that will guide the ADC's future direction.

This convention marks a significant moment for the ADC, particularly after facing challenges in securing larger venues like the Eagle Square and the Moshood Abiola National Stadium Velodrome. The choice of the Rainbow Event Centre underscores the party's determination to proceed with its crucial internal democratic processes.
