No shake-up in leadership, says ACF

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has moved swiftly to quash rumors of a leadership shake-up within the prominent northern socio-political organization. In a strongly worded statement, the ACF has declared any such announcements as entirely false, unconstitutional, and without legal standing. This decisive action aims to preempt any potential confusion or internal discord among its members and the wider public.

The news is totally false, and the purported action from which the announcement was derived is unconstitutional.

According to the ACF's National Publicity Secretary, Professor Tukur Muhammad-Baba, the forum's Chairman, Mr. Mike Mamman Osuman (SAN), has officially authorized the disclaimer. This move is intended to directly address and correct misinformation that has been circulating, which falsely suggests a change in leadership. The ACF is keen to maintain its image as a cohesive and stable organization, especially given its significant role in representing northern interests.

The approval of leaders was exclusively vested in its General Assembly, which it noted had yet to be convened for the purpose of filling any vacant positions.

The forum has underscored that the constitutional authority for approving any leadership changes rests solely with its General Assembly. As this body has not convened for such a purpose, any purported changes are deemed illegitimate. The ACF also clarified that its Board of Trustees and other committees operate strictly within their constitutional mandates, refuting claims of unauthorized actions. This firm stance reassures stakeholders that the ACF's leadership structure remains intact and operates according to its established rules, thereby preventing any false impression of an internal crisis.
