Norris takes pole for Hungarian Grand Prix

Lando Norris will start from pole position at the Hungarian Grand Prix, the eleventh race of the Formula One season. The McLaren driver, who is the reigning world champion and won at the Hungaroring last year, secured his seventeenth career pole and first of the current season. Norris's fastest lap in the decisive third qualifying round (Q3) was just 12 thousandths of a second faster than compatriot Lewis Hamilton of Ferrari.

Charles Leclerc of Ferrari qualified third, 238 thousandths behind Norris. He will share the second row with Mercedes driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli, who currently leads the World Championship. McLaren's Oscar Piastri and four-time world champion Max Verstappen of Red Bull will start from the third row, with Verstappen qualifying sixth.

Spanish drivers Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz will face a tougher challenge, starting from sixteenth and eighteenth positions respectively. Franco Colapinto of Alpine will begin in thirteenth place, while Sergio Pérez of Cadillac will start last on the grid. George Russell of Mercedes qualified seventh, ahead of Isack Hadjar of Red Bull. Arvid Lindblad and Nico Hülkenberg will occupy the tenth spot. However, the current grid is provisional, as both Hamilton and Antonelli are under investigation for alleged irregular maneuvers during qualifying.
