North Sulawesi Governor Appoints New Officials, Demands Integrity and Professionalism

Governor Yulius Selvanus of North Sulawesi has officially appointed three new Echelon II officials within the provincial government, stressing the importance of integrity, professionalism, and responsibility in their new roles.

During the swearing-in ceremony in Manado on Wednesday, Governor Selvanus stated that these rotations and placements are integral to organizational development and restructuring. He believes these strategic moves will accelerate the implementation of development agendas and programs, ultimately leading to higher quality public services. "Every appointment ceremony is part of the process of fostering and organizing the institution. Placing officials in the right positions is expected to speed up the implementation of agendas and development programs, as well as produce far better quality public services," the governor remarked.

Governor Selvanus specifically addressed the newly appointed officials, urging them to view their positions not merely as facilities or awards to be proud of, but as trusts that require accountability. "Position is not a facility or an award to be proud of, but rather a trust and confidence that must be accounted for, both to the public, the government, and to God Almighty," he emphasized.

Beyond integrity, the governor called on the new officials to adapt quickly and foster strong communication. He highlighted the need for them to serve as role models in discipline and loyalty. While appreciating the provincial government's achievements in governance and investment, Governor Selvanus cautioned that significant challenges lie ahead, requiring synergy without sectoral ego. The appointed officials include Deicy Paat, moving from Head of Public Works and Spatial Planning to Head of Manpower and Transmigration; Femmy Suluh, transitioning from Head of Regional Education to Head of Provincial Transportation; and Jahja Rondonuwu, taking over as Head of Regional Education from his previous role in the Provincial DPRD Secretariat.
