NPP inaugurates national elections committee ahead of officer polls

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has established a National Elections Committee to oversee the upcoming election of its national officers. The committee's inauguration, led by Acting National Chairman Chairman Butey, marks a significant step in the party's internal preparations.

Frederick Opare-Ansah, a former Member of Parliament for Suhum, will chair the committee, with former Deputy Finance Minister Abena Osei Asare serving as its secretary. The committee's mandate includes planning, organizing, and supervising all activities leading up to the National Conference, where the new national officers will be elected. They will also be responsible for overseeing the conduct of the elections themselves.

Several other party members have been appointed to the committee, including Evans Nimako, Oboshie Sai Cofie, Anthony Abayifa Karbo, Salam Ama Appianin Damata, Eric Ntori, and Frank Davies. The Ashanti Regional Chairman will also join the committee once regional elections conclude. The NPP leadership congratulated the members, expressing strong confidence in their capacity to execute their duties with integrity, fairness, transparency, and professionalism, all in the best interest of the party.
