A daughter has filed a case alleging that hired killers murdered her parents and their domestic help in Sylhet's Raynagar area. Selina Sultana claims the killings were a premeditated plan stemming from a long-running land dispute.

According to the complaint filed with Kotwali Police Station, the murders were intended to protect interests tied to a disputed piece of land. Selina Sultana and her father had leased a plot in 1997 and built a house there. However, a dispute arose when Advocate Sirajul Islam allegedly executed a sale deed in 2006 in favor of Impulse Builders, including the family's leased plot. Selina's father filed a title suit challenging this ownership, which is currently pending.

The complaint further alleges that family members were repeatedly threatened and pressured to withdraw the case. It also details incidents of alleged threats against her father and his lawyer, and an assault on a relative outside the Sylhet District and Sessions Judge Court in May 2025. The relative later filed a case that is currently under police investigation.

Selina Sultana stated that land-related documents and other important papers were taken from the house during the incident. Police recovered the bodies of Abdus Sattar, 82, Suraiya Begum, 72, and domestic help Tahmina Begum, 15, from their home on Wednesday morning. All victims had their throats slit and sustained multiple injuries. A suspect, Babul Miah, was detained and sent to jail, though he is not named in the current complaint.
