International Crimes Tribunal-2 was informed by the prosecution that arrest warrants against 20 fugitives in cases stemming from the 2013 crackdown on Hefazat-e-Islam activists remain unexecuted. These activists faced charges of genocide and crimes against humanity during the May 5-6, 2013 events in Motijheel's Shapla Chattar and Narayanganj.

The prosecution submitted non-execution reports from law enforcement agencies for these 20 accused. The reports indicate that the warrants could not be carried out. Meanwhile, the prosecution has not yet received reports concerning the remaining 10 accused.

Last month, the tribunal had taken cognizance of formal charges against 41 individuals, issuing arrest warrants for 30 fugitives. Eleven accused were already in custody at that time. The tribunal had scheduled today for the submission of warrant execution reports. It also ordered the production of the 11 detained accused.

However, only nine of the detained accused were presented before the tribunal. The remaining two, former minister Hasanul Haq Inu and Abdur Razzaque, were not brought to the tribunal. The tribunal has ordered jail authorities to produce them on September 3. The nine produced accused include former minister Abdul Latif Siddiqui, former minister Dipu Moni, and former inspector general of police AKM Shahidul Hoque, among others.
