Authorities in Savar, Bangladesh, have cordoned off a field adjacent to a mosque after a suspicious pressure cooker was discovered, raising concerns it could be a bomb. The item was found inside a blue plastic drum, alongside clothes and a copy of the Quran, in the Goper Bari area of Sadhapur late Tuesday night.

Local residents alerted police after finding the drum. They reportedly removed the pressure cooker, which appeared to resemble a bomb, and placed it separately in the field. Police were notified around 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, and the bomb disposal unit has been summoned to examine the cooker.

We found a pressure cooker wrapped in black tape. We suspect it could be a bomb, so we informed the bomb disposal unit. They are on their way.

This incident occurs just hours after law enforcement recovered several crude bomb-like objects, nine pipe bombs, and bomb-making materials from a rented flat in Savar’s Shyampur. The operation leading to that discovery was prompted by information from a man arrested earlier in Hemayetpur. The pressure cooker's discovery has heightened security concerns in the area as investigations into the earlier findings continue.
