Olimpia surpasses $5 million in transfer income

Paraguayan football giant Olimpia has announced its transfer income has exceeded $5 million in the current market, boosted by the sale of a percentage of rights for a player developed in its youth academy. The club, based in the Mariscal López neighborhood, has strategically sold portions of player contracts to ensure potential future earnings contingent on the players' performance abroad.

Recent transfers contributing to this figure include the sale of winger Diego Joel Torres (23) to Chadormalu SC in Iran for $200,000, representing 50% of his rights. Torres had previously played in Brazil and joined Olimpia in 2019. Other significant deals involve Hugo Quintana, whose 50% rights were sold to Independiente del Valle in Ecuador for approximately $2 million. Adrián Alcaraz moved to Pachuca in Mexico, generating $1.8 million for 70% of his rights.

Further bolstering Olimpia's finances, Facundo Insfrán's transfer to Al-Wahda FC in the United Arab Emirates brought in $700,000 for 50% of his rights. Allan Wlk Duré's move to Lanús in Argentina yielded an estimated $750,000 for 80% of his rights. Cumulatively, these transactions bring the total income for the most decorated club in Paraguayan football to approximately $5.45 million.
