Osun Election: ADC Candidate Raises Alarm Over Non-Recognition of Agents

Najeem Salaam, the Africa Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Nigeria's Osun state, has voiced concerns over the alleged non-recognition of his party agents during the recent election. Salaam reported that in 10 local government areas, ADC agents were reportedly turned away despite the party having submitted their names in advance.

Salaam, who cast his vote on Saturday, stated that he had alerted the relevant authorities about the issue, and they were investigating. He also firmly denied any involvement in vote buying, asserting that the ADC's campaign focused on presenting its platform and empowering voters to make their own choices.

We converse with the people, we let them know our programmes, and that is exactly what we do. Vote buying is out of it. I have never in my life bought votes.

Despite the challenges, Salaam expressed optimism about his electoral prospects. He attributed his confidence to his faith and the anticipated support from the voters, believing the election process should be fair and allow citizens to choose their preferred governor.

People will decide whom they want, and I think it should be very fair enough for them to have the right to choose whom they prefer as a candidate or as the governor of the state.
