Osun election sees large turnout in hometown of APC candidate

Residents of Ikire, the hometown of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, demonstrated a strong commitment to the electoral process on Saturday, participating in large numbers in the Osun governorship election. Voters began arriving at polling units as early as 7 a.m., diligently checking registers to confirm their accreditation details.

Officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were prepared, having set up at various polling units before the official start time. Security was visibly present, with unarmed police officers at the centers and armed personnel, including soldiers, stationed at strategic points throughout the town to ensure a smooth process.

Despite the significant electoral activity, the town maintained a peaceful ambiance. Vehicular movement was observed along the Ife-Ibadan Road, and some shops remained open, indicating a sense of normalcy alongside the election. The presence of motorcycles and cars moving around the area added to the election day scene.
