Over 12,000 to Take Part in Dublin City Half Marathon

Dublin is buzzing with energy today as the City Half Marathon takes over the capital, drawing an impressive 12,500 participants for the 21.1km challenge. The race, kicking off on O'Connell Street, will weave through various neighborhoods before concluding in the city center, creating a vibrant atmosphere for both runners and spectators.

Organizers have put measures in place to manage the event, including a three-hour and 30-minute course closure and advice for participants to display their race numbers. Public transport services like Dublin Bus, Luas, and Irish Rail are operating with altered schedules, and attendees are urged to plan their travel and utilize public transport. Limited parking is available, with discounts offered at selected city center locations using the code 'RACE 26'.

This year's event builds on the success of its inaugural run, which sold out rapidly. The introduction of a ballot entry system aims to ensure fair access for all aspiring participants.
