Panama U-17 team to face Australia, Morocco, Vietnam in Spain friendlies

Panama's U-17 national football team is set to travel to Spain for a series of preparatory matches ahead of the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar. The squad, under the guidance of head coach Felipe Baloy, will compete in a mini-tournament in Salou, Spain, from September 24 to October 1.

The Panamanian team will face three other nations also preparing for the World Cup: Australia, Morocco, and Vietnam. Their schedule includes a match against Australia on September 24, followed by a game against Morocco on September 26. The series concludes with a match against Vietnam on September 30.

These friendlies are a key part of Panama's strategy to fine-tune their performance for the global tournament. The U-17 World Cup is scheduled to take place in Qatar from November 19 to December 13. Panama has been drawn into Group A, where they will compete against host nation Qatar, Egypt, and Greece.

The team's preparation also includes domestic training camps, with Baloy having recently called up 27 players for the sixth training microcycle. The upcoming matches in Spain will provide valuable international experience and allow the coaching staff to assess the team's readiness against diverse opponents.

Panama's opening match in the World Cup will be against Qatar on November 19. They will then face Greece on November 22, and conclude their group stage campaign against Egypt on November 25. The team's performance in these friendlies will be critical in shaping their approach for the challenging group stage.
