Panevėžys council member's 'receipt' case sent to court

The wheels of justice are turning as a case concerning alleged financial impropriety by a member of the Panevėžys City Council has been forwarded to the Panevėžys District Court. The investigation, spearheaded by the Panevėžys Regional Prosecutor's Office and conducted by the Special Investigation Service (STT), centers on accusations against council member Grigienė.

According to the prosecution, Grigienė is suspected of fabricating 19 advance payment reports between July 2019 and April 2023. These reports allegedly misrepresented her actual expenses, particularly concerning fuel costs incurred in her capacity as a council member. By attaching falsified documents, she is accused of defrauding the municipality of 811 euros.
