Paraguay Weather: Storms and Cold Front Arrive This Week

Asunción, Paraguay – Residents of Paraguay can expect a pleasant, warm day today, according to the Directorate of Meteorology and Hydrology. However, this calm weather is set to be short-lived, as a significant shift is on the horizon, bringing much-needed rain and a sharp decrease in temperatures.

The forecast indicates that today will remain warm, with highs reaching up to 32 degrees Celsius in Asunción and Encarnación, 31 in Ciudad del Este, and a sweltering 36 in the Chaco region. There is no probability of rain or thunderstorms, allowing for normal daily activities. This respite, however, serves as a prelude to the incoming weather system.

Starting Thursday, the meteorological conditions are predicted to change dramatically. New storms and widespread precipitation are expected to affect most of the country, including the capital, Asunción. These conditions are forecast to persist at least until Friday. Following the rain, a noticeable temperature drop is anticipated.

By Friday, temperatures are expected to plummet, with a maximum of only 19 degrees Celsius in the capital and a minimum of 14 degrees. Similar low temperatures are projected across the entire country. The weekend could bring even colder conditions, with minimum temperatures potentially dipping below 10 degrees Celsius. This change marks a significant departure from the current warm spell and signals the arrival of cooler weather, a welcome development for many as the seasons transition.
