Pati Activist Leader Attends Plenary Session at Parliament

In an unusual turn of events, a group of protesters from the Alliance of United Pati Community (AMPB) managed to attend a plenary session inside the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) while their demonstration continued outside. The group's coordinator, identified as Supriyono, also known as Botok, was among those present, dressed in simple attire.

Their presence in the balcony of the plenary hall was reportedly permitted after negotiations with the DPR secretariat. The session they observed was focused on a report from Commission III regarding the ongoing deliberations on the Asset Forfeiture Bill, a piece of legislation currently in the phase of gathering public input.

Despite gaining access to the plenary session, the AMPB maintained their protest outside the parliamentary complex. This dual action highlights a strategy of both direct engagement and public demonstration to convey their message. The DPR Speaker, Puan Maharani, acknowledged the protesters' presence, emphasizing the DPR's readiness to receive input from various community groups and urging demonstrators to maintain order during their activities.
