Prabowo to open Nahdlatul Ulama congress in East Java

The 35th Nahdlatul Ulama congress, a pivotal event for the organization's future, is set to commence in Jombang, East Java. Preparations are finalized, with President Prabowo slated to officially inaugurate the proceedings on Thursday afternoon.

Mohammad Nuh, Rais Syuriyah of the Nahdlatul Ulama Central Board (PBNU) and Secretary of the Steering Committee, confirmed that all technical and administrative needs have been meticulously arranged. The registration and arrival of participants from various regions have been ongoing smoothly since the day before the event.

"Bismillah, God willing, everything has been prepared well and God willing, the opening will begin at 3 PM. Participants are also starting to register from yesterday, and God willing, everything is ready," Nuh stated at the venue. He added, "So please pray for us that everything goes smoothly and well."

President Prabowo is confirmed to attend in person, delivering a speech and officially opening the congress. Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka is also expected to attend. The event's start time was moved to 3 PM from the initially planned evening slot.

Organizers are actively monitoring registration data to ensure quorum, noting a significant surge in participant arrivals since the previous night. They anticipate reaching the required attendance by noon, ensuring all quorum requirements are met for the congress to proceed.
