Pedestrian and motorcyclist injured in Niš; emergency services urge caution

Niš, Serbia – Emergency medical teams in Niš have treated a pedestrian and a motorcyclist injured in two separate accidents that occurred within the last 24 hours. The pedestrian was struck in Vardarska Street and transported to the Urgentni centar with injuries to the head and legs. The motorcyclist sustained head injuries after being hit in Branka Krsmanovića Street and was also taken to the Urgentni centar. Doctors from the Niš Emergency Medical Service have issued an appeal for heightened caution among all road users. They specifically highlighted the need for increased vigilance from pedestrians and motorcyclists, noting a recent surge in traffic incidents involving these vulnerable road users. "Traffic accidents are happening frequently lately, and we have injured pedestrians and motorcyclists almost every day," the doctors stated. Authorities are urging motorcyclists to always wear helmets and to be particularly careful at intersections. The appeal comes as the city grapples with a noticeable increase in road accidents, underscoring the importance of adherence to traffic safety measures for all participants.
