Perlis Chief Minister Abu Bakar Hamzah is demonstrating a hands-on approach to governance by personally engaging with citizens across all 15 state constituencies. This initiative, dubbed "Perlis Mendengar Rintihan Rakyat" (Perlis Hears the People's Cries), managed by the Kangar Municipal Council, signifies a commitment to direct dialogue and problem-solving.

The program's inaugural stop in Beseri highlighted pressing local issues, particularly the need for improved infrastructure, with residents citing recurring floods due to inadequate drainage systems. Beyond infrastructure, the community also voiced concerns about job creation and economic opportunities that would benefit the local populace.

This proactive stance is particularly noteworthy as the state legislative assembly is set to convene from June 3rd to 5th. The Chief Minister, having been in office for just over three months, is also in the process of shaping the state's future direction, with plans for leadership committees and a "Prosperous Perlis" planning committee to be announced during the assembly session. This period marks a significant phase for Perlis as it charts its course under new leadership, with a clear emphasis on responsiveness to the needs of its citizens.
