PLN South Sulawesi Reviews Power Plant Optimization to Secure Sulbagsel Electricity

PLN’s regional management in South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi and West Sulawesi is stepping up direct inspections of power plants as it works to keep the electricity system in southern Sulawesi reliable.

General Manager Edyansyah monitored the system through the Sulselrabar Distribution Control Implementation Unit. He said PLN was optimizing all generating units, including leased equipment at the Tallo Lama diesel power plant, so they remained ready to operate.

He added that field inspections would help the company identify and address technical problems that could affect system reliability.

During the visit, Edyansyah and the management team monitored the stability of the Sulbagsel system in real time. PLN said it was also accelerating the recovery of available generating capacity and bringing units that had been returning to service back to optimal operation.

Edyansyah separately inspected the Tallo Lama diesel plant, including its engines and supporting facilities. PLN said the comprehensive check aimed to ensure that all units could operate effectively and support reliable electricity for customers. The company is also adjusting plant operating patterns, accelerating recovery and using mitigation measures to keep supply and demand in balance.
