PM officially opens Finas Tower

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim officially inaugurated the Finas Tower, the new headquarters for the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (Finas), located in Damansara Damai. The ceremony marked a significant milestone for the country's film industry.

The Finas Tower, developed on a 5.14-acre site, began construction on January 20, 2021. It features a range of modern facilities designed to support film production and preservation. These include the Dewan Panca Delima, two sound stage studios, and the P. Ramlee Digital Cinema.

According to Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil, the tower also accommodates a training space, a Mediatheque, the Museum of Moving Image, and a Film Vault. The Film Vault alone holds an extensive archive of 81,770 audiovisual materials.

The building received its Certificate of Completion and Compliance on December 18, 2025, and a Certificate of Practical Completion on May 22, 2026. Following a phased relocation, Finas commenced full operations at the new tower on August 6, 2026.
