Police arrest two in connection with gun smuggling linked to Delta officer's killing

In a significant development following the tragic killing of Oghenemine Ogidi by ASP Nuhu Usman in Effurun, Delta State, police have apprehended two suspects. Vanguard News can confirm that these individuals are linked to the barretta pistol and ammunition that led to the fatal encounter.

Sources indicate that one of the arrested suspects is the individual who dispatched the firearm from Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, via a transport service to Effurun. It was from this location that Ogidi reportedly retrieved the weapon before his encounter with the police officer. The second suspect's role, possibly as a driver involved in the transport, is still under investigation.
