Prambanan Temple Area to Feature Cable Cars; Sleman Regency Allocates Rp200 Billion

Sleman Regency is poised to unveil a new tourism face with the upcoming "Prambanan Heritage Skyline," a unique cable car destination set to grace the vicinity of the renowned Prambanan temple. This ambitious project, valued at approximately Rp200 billion, is envisioned as Indonesia's pioneering aerial tourism icon, promising a captivating fusion of natural panoramas and the rich tapestry of cultural heritage.

The Sleman Regency government has actively advanced the project's realization. Having secured preliminary approval from the DIY Regional Government, initial development phases, including land acquisition and the fulfillment of various technical permits, are now underway. Triana Wahyuningsih, Head of DPMPTSP Sleman, highlighted the cable car tourism development as a crucial investment for Sleman Regency. She noted the strategic location, particularly emphasizing the need to bolster development in the eastern part of Sleman to enhance regional tourism potential and economic growth.

"This will provide a more diverse tourist destination," Wahyuningsih stated. She further elaborated that the project's investors have obtained the necessary spatial utilization conformity (KKPR) for three Indonesian Standard Industrial Classification (KBLI) categories. Currently, land acquisition remains a key focus in the initial construction phase. Wahyuningsih underscored Prambanan's strategic importance, not only as part of the National Strategic Tourism Area (KSPN) but also due to its well-supported infrastructure, including the nearby Prambanan toll gate, which has the potential to serve as a tourism hub connecting DIY and Central Java.
