Prayer for Rain Practiced by Prophet Muhammad, Along with Its Miraculous Story

The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, provided Muslims with a specific supplication to recite when a region faces drought and severe lack of rain. This prayer, known as Salat al-Istisqa, is documented in several hadiths and was personally led by the Prophet himself.

During a period of drought in Medina, the Prophet Muhammad led the congregational prayer for rain. Accounts from this event indicate that following the prayer, divine intervention brought much-needed rainfall, revitalizing the parched land of the city.

The prayer for rain is narrated from Amr bin Syuaib and transmitted by Imam Malik. The text of the prayer is: "Allahumma-sqi 'ibaadaka wa bahaa-imaka wansyur rahmataka wa ahyi baladakal mayyita." This translates to: "O Allah, give water to Your servants, Your animals, spread Your mercy, and bring to life Your dead land."

According to the Al-Dorar Al-Saniyyah website, a similar version of this prayer is also found in Sahih Abu Daud, with slight variations in wording. The practice emphasizes reliance on God during times of natural hardship and seeking His mercy for sustenance and life.
