Qingshui Aofeng Mountain's '34 Slides' Playground Opens, Welcomes Thousands on Opening Weekend

The city of Taichung is celebrating the grand opening of its innovative "Guliu Playground" at Qingshui Aofeng Mountain Park. This new attraction boasts an impressive 34 slides, the most in Taiwan, and has already proven to be a massive hit with families.

Mayor Lu Shiow-yen, who was personally involved in the design and naming of the playground, expressed her delight at the enthusiastic reception. She recalled her own childhood fondness for slides and emphasized the playground's role in creating a vibrant community space. The project, a significant investment of over NT$70 million, was developed on a former sunny lawn area, utilizing the natural terrain to create a unique play experience.

City Council Speaker Chang Ching-chao highlighted the playground's development, noting it was built upon the success of a previous "Competitive Playground" in the same park. The "Guliu Playground" is expected to draw even more visitors to Aofeng Mountain, further boosting local tourism and providing a beloved recreational spot for residents.

The playground's opening weekend saw an overwhelming turnout, with thousands of families flocking to experience the new facilities. Many parents expressed their joy at having a place where their children could "discharge energy" after family gatherings. The sheer popularity of the slides has led to calls for parents to remain vigilant about child safety and adhere to usage guidelines to prevent accidents.
