Russia Warns Kyiv Diplomats to Evacuate Ahead of Victory Day

Russia has issued a stern warning to diplomatic missions in Kyiv, urging them to evacuate their personnel. This measure, detailed in a notice sent to foreign diplomatic missions and international organizations, signals Moscow's intent to launch a "retaliatory strike" on Ukraine's capital, including its decision-making centers, should Kyiv disrupt the upcoming Victory Day celebrations on May 9. The Russian government has also called for the timely evacuation of diplomatic and other mission staff, as well as citizens, from Kyiv.

This warning follows a series of exchanges between Russia and Ukraine. On Thursday, both nations reported casualties and damage. In Russia's Bryansk border city, 13 people were injured, while one person was wounded in Ukraine's Dnipro city. Moscow's mayor, Sergey Sobyanin, reported that at least five drones heading towards the capital were destroyed.
