Seven of Eight Injured Workers Discharged After Factory Fire

A fire broke out at a factory producing transmission belts and conveyor belts in Turkey's Hendek 2nd Organized Industrial Zone yesterday afternoon following an explosion. Emergency services, including health, fire, AFAD, and police teams, were dispatched to the scene. The blaze was brought under control by firefighters.

Eight workers sustained injuries in the incident. Following initial medical attention, the injured were transported to hospitals. Today, seven of these workers were released after receiving treatment. However, one worker, Tayfun Atış, who suffered burns and is in serious condition, has been transferred to Kocaeli City Hospital for ongoing medical care.

An investigation into the cause of the explosion and subsequent fire is currently underway. The incident highlights the safety challenges faced by industrial facilities and the critical response required from emergency services in such situations. The focus remains on the recovery of the injured worker and understanding the root cause to prevent future occurrences.
