Datuk Seri Shahril Mokhtar, the Deputy President of the Selangor Football Association (FAS), has firmly refuted claims that he attempted to influence match officials. This statement comes in the wake of discussions at a recent Malaysia Football League (MFL) partners' round table meeting, where concerns were reportedly raised.

The allegations stem from an incident that occurred after a match between Selangor FC and Kuching City. Shahril acknowledged sending a message at 12:56 AM on February 23rd, following the conclusion of the game. He clarified that the message's intent was to voice his dissatisfaction with specific refereeing decisions made late in the match, which he felt were incorrect.

This clarification from the FAS Deputy President aims to address and dispel any misunderstandings or misinterpretations regarding his actions and intentions.
